ALOHA!

Here are a few things that should make your stay more enjoyable.

A book called “The Big Island Revealed” is located in the main living area for your use.

There are maps of Mauna Lani and The Villages at www.maunalanirealty.com

HOUSE RULES

  • Remove all shoes inside the house

  • Do not smoke in the house

  • Please use coasters on wood

  • Close and lock doors whenever you leave

KEYS

Return lock box key to its spot and use only as back-up. In the bowl by the door you will find 2 sets of keys to the house along with pool keys. Lost keys cost $50 and are deducted from the security deposit.

A card key for The Beach Club is also there. It is $150 to replace a lost card and is deducted from the security deposit.

LIGHTING

To conserve energy please be sure to turn the fans and light switches completely off (when not in use and before you leave the house) with the smaller switch at the bottom of the switch plate. This is a very important as electricity on the island is expensive.

AIR CONDITIONING UNITS

The AC does not work if doors are open. We ask that the AC be kept in the off position whenever possible, especially when away from the house. Keeping the windows open and screened (to keep the critters out) with the fans on, creates a nice breeze without AC. To turn AC on push "cool" and regulate with the up/down button for temp. Keeping it no lower than 75 is appreciated!

KITCHEN

Try not to leave any open food or crumbs on the counters, floors or in the cupboards. Nothing too serious, but if you wipe up the counters, wash the dishes after every meal and take the kitchen garbage out daily you’ll never have a problem with little critters.

Garbage pick-up is on Mondays and Thursdays.   At this time we do not have a recycling program for the individual units in The Villages. However, if you choose, you can take glass, cans and plastic to a station in back of the Managers office at the front entrance.

Cook top- To turn ON select the on/off pad and then press the up arrow once to begin to regulate temp. If the cooktop still does not come on then press the DACOR sign for 3 seconds to release it from the locked position.

TV/INTERNET

The flat screen TV’s in the living room, master and queen suite all have standard cable (72 channels.) The twin bedroom does not have cable and is for DVD viewing. The Living room, king suite, queen suite and Twin all have DVD viewing capability. The Grocery store next door has a DVD kiosk for renting movies (currently $1 per day) Any DVDs left at the house are also available for use during your stay.

BEACH GEAR/POOL

Beach toys and boogie boards are located in the garage. Please keep all sand toys and such in the above mentioned area.
